It's not about setting it to sound good, but setting it where there is the least amount of surge.

me personally i am running type s with 8.5psi and it was really hard to get it to not surge, ALOT of adjustments to get it just right. its kinda weird becuase ive heard the type s with a woosh sound, or a high pitch ca chink (like mine) ive heard a few type s that sound different not sure if they have done anythnig to them

running a blitz dd bov and loving it. at first, i got it for my mk3 turbo supra because it looks cool, haha. it isn't quite as loud as an hks bov, but i started liking mine more and more once i was running it. reason is because all the cars in town are either running hks or greddy bov's, so it's nice to be different.

I'm running an HKS SSQV, about to change the BOV fin for a different sound. Let's see how much of a diff it actually makes.

I guess it's just me, but the 1g DSM sounds good. But I like to have people not knowing I am turbo until i step on the gas. My external wastegate with open dump will be loud enough for me.

Had a GReddy Type S, or RS, and only had one spring (I was open atmosphere). I sold it to a forum member that would be using it re-circ, and went out and bought another GReddy RS new for under $50. I still don't like it, especially now that I get too much compressor surge at 10psi, even with the BOV as loose as possible.

I purchased the HKS v2.0 SSQV from Protech (Since I noticed so many Sr20 owners use it) to go with my new setup that they're working on. That coupled with the 44mm TiAL wastegate should make for fun times.

Im running the HKS SSQV (3rd gen).

It almost annoying sometimes cause when Im driving around trying to be quiet the damn thing STILL blows off. Im talking I could be taking it up to 2500rpm in every gear and staying under 15% throttle position and you can STILL hear the BOV when I let off in each gear! I listend to the other fins and one makes the squek sound but its just gold. The other makes the BOV more quiet.

Its most likely because I have my BOV on the hotside though...

Johnny,

You should probably move your BOV to the cold side piping in the future. I ran my GReddy on the hotside for a limited time, but noticed that the BOV got REALLY friggin hot, and was afraid of damaging the diaphram, so I relocated it.
