i donno i have seen the comparison of the 2 and the synapse looks like a better quality.

honestly i think the hks is complete garbage it is more for sound than anything and a annoying sound at that, you would think a company like hks would have something more geared towards the quality of the tial or synapse than a ''show'' type style very unimpressed

1g dsm, cheap, don't leak, work great, common sizes for vent tube-Easy to recirc.

I initially had the same problem with my new sard bov. I opened it up and cut a coil off the spring. Now it works perfectly.

I have not had the above problem with my type S, even at 7-8 psi. I took it apart, removed one spring, and used the vacuum-pump adjustment method, and it's worked fine since.

are you recirculating? or atmosphere?

Im running a $45 ebay knockoff TurboXS RFL, that was including the adapter pipe. Im running it open atmosphere, im running a blow thru setup. It sounds really good to me. its just a nice whoosh and its pretty loud when you actually build boost and shift. I love it and it works good.

Recirc, stock boost via wastegate pressure.

if you're recirculated, then that's a non issue. Those of us that have that BOV vented to atmosphere, shouldn't remove the smaller spring and adjust according to vacuum pump, as then the BOV will remain open at all times until boost. Really annoying, to say the least.

Leaving both springs in for atmosphere setup, also makes it a pain as far as venting during shifts or off boost. It's not quick enough to react, and compressor surge ensues. Mine could be soft to the point to where you could probably turn the screw two times and take it out all together. Still get too much compressor surge.

Your not the only one whos said the HKS SSQV is complete garbage. How are you coming to that conclusion??

The HKS to me is a nice BOV. THe quality is on par with most other BOV's out there if not better and the reliability of the BOV isnt even a question anymore with it being out for so long...whats not to like about it?? Its rebuildable, has fins to disapate the heat for people who put it on the hotside like me and is stupid easy to take apart. I cant find a downside to the BOV.
