2 12" fans + make a nice radiator shroud for em so you have even flow across the entire radiator

Ya, I think the shroud on the 2 12" is the most important part of system, it helps cool off the entire radiator, much more effective!

You can see how fast temps drop on my Techtom, its like instant!!!

Sweet, I guess I'll get to try my hands at some bondo/fiber filler then, and see what I can come up with. May be a fun project

For reference, here's my post about the shroud I made. Since then I've painted it black, and added ears for mounting to the radiator.

So see the following, these are the 12" fans from siliconintakes on my radiator:

Now a little math:
My radiator core is 26" by 12.5", so 26 * 12.5 = 325 square inches of surface area.

The 12" fan would pull accross an area of 3.14 * 6^2 = 113.04 square inches, multiplied by two since I have two fans = 226.08 square inches of surface area being used.

Lets make that into a ratio, (226.08/325) * 100 = 69.5% or ~70% of the radiators surface area being used. Thats 30% of the total surface area of the radiator no longer being pulled across by these aftermarket fans.

Since apparently at speed my radiator has little to no airflow across the radiator unless fans are running, this wasn't going to work for me. Nothing a little time and effort couldn't fix :biggthump

I put together a mold for a custom shroud that would fit these fans and my radiator perfectly, and then laid it in fiberglass. The pictures below are of the unfinished fiberglass. I still need to attach mounting ears so I can attach it to the OEM fan mount points and paint it. I plan to use weather stripping to ensure a good seal along the radiator.

Fitment came out great, and they're a hair slimmer then the OEM fans were

Front w/o fans:

Front w/ fans mounted:

Backside with fans mounted:

Not sure how this would work out on a car without a big FMIC sitting infront of the radiator, the shroud may impose a larger restriction for air flow thru the radiator at speed.

I wired em up in the engine bay a couple weeks ago, they work awesome. You can feel air being pulled across the entire radiator, even the far corners.

I have a pair of 12" fans identical to Crim's available if anyone wants them. Pull or push, just change the wires to reverse direction.

How much you asking for them shipped?

I have mine mounted as pushers in front of the radiator. My theory is its easier to push something then pull. I don't see how it would block air flow...

Get some wiring how to's posted on here too. Cause the plug is a 4 pin on the car and the fans only have 2 wires.
