octane boosters, they really works?
the octane boosters could work to prevent predetonations??? here in mexico the gasoline its too bad and now that my car its turbo i´m ussing this with 25ltrs of premiun gas


but i´m not sure that they works.

two weeks ago i used 3ltrs of vp race gas with 10ltrs of premium and the cars works great but the race gas it´s too expensibe

It works, how well it works will depend on the quality of fuel you get.

some with increase the octane but not as much as claimed. I know there have been several studies that showed this information.

I know that the Lucas and NOS brands did very well on knock tests. The Lucas being better of the two. We are talking at least 4 full octane number increase (40 points) on either one of these.

Are you sure about that?
I remember coming across a study about octane boosters and there's actually no known substance that can do that and come in a small bottle. To raise it 40 points you'd have to have at least a gallon of the stuff.
That said, the little bottles of booster will raise the octane by 0.1 to 0.4 points. Not really worth it...

OP, you're better off getting the Magna Premium and mixing it with Toulene yourself. Just make sure it doesn't sit a while because Toulene will increase the octane significantly, but it lacks the biocides of consumer fuels and will start to break down and gum up your lines.

^Makes sense, but for a couple bucks he want hurt to put it in the tank for a fun weekend.

I got a bottle of this 130octane fuel that I put in for some joyful driving.

yep sport compact did the article. they are tested making your own boost using xylene and tourlene.

yep it removes paint but it can cause cancer as well. nasty stuff.
