personally i do think there are better headstuds than arp however im running them and making almost 300bhp with no problems, the head lifting on the other post was making 500+ if you dont plan on going for more than 500 then i think the arp would be good for you.

See, that's the thing, it's white smoke but it's also 20 degrees out when it does it. I was just thinking nothin of it before, but think I'll just play it safe and replace the bolts with OEM one's.

How much whp can the OEM one's take???

OEm head bolts with 80km held up just fine on a stock HG and 20psi for 423whp for me for 1 year. After that I wanted more power 500+ which I still used new OEM head bolts and an apexi HG and they held just fine as well.

Stock head bolts are badass.

Now with my gtir motor I may run ARP as the head studs are completely dif for that motor. I got research more, but I think they seat on the bottom of the thread rather then leaving a gap.

If you really want the badass setup sned block and head to Mazworx for the 1/2 stud kit. ~$400 includes machining and hardware

Just saw your email, I think you should just replace them, my vote is for the AEBS studs.

I thought Joel said something about problems with them, getting them locked in. ???

I will probably just go OEM head bolts with new VE HG from GregV. Are all head bolts created equal (besides GTiR)? DE vs DET vs VE vs VET

IIRC they all have the same P/N less gtir, but I could be wrong.

Joel lost the instructions i sent him when I shipped him the AEBS studs and he followed the ARP specs instead which is a no no. The AEBS studs follow the same torque specs of the OEM studs and stretch when installed like OEM bolts.
