gt28rs wastegate problems
hey guys i recently bought a new gt28rs and the wastegate with bracket. i went to mount it on the car today and the bracket sticks out way to much in the rear of the turbo and hits the block. so much that the manifild wont even go on all the way. i think i have the wrong wastegate and bracket. can anyone help me out? where can i find the right stuff? im using a gtir mani and already grinded down the block for the compressor intake pipe to fit. wastegate has a part number 55206 480009-6 10308

or am i possible putting on the bracket wrong?

thats the wrong bracket for a fwd car. you will need this and a threaded extender for the waste gate arm.

I'd check this first. Could be an easy fix. I know that wastegate actuator should be maybe 45 degrees higher (towards the valve cover) than it is.

That bracket is for the RWD guys, you need a different one altogether. All GT2860RS turbo's i've seen all come with the FWD bracket

even if you redrill the bracket it will not work. For some reason every gt28rs comes with this bracket. It will not work on any fwd sr20 application.

make sure to get a couple of the threaded rod extenders. you will need them to hook up the waste gate arm. I know I needed one when I used a internal gate with my gt28rs.
