gomba, it's possible. Fix that and then look elsewhere if it doesn't solve your problem.

If you have this before the turbo all the boost is going to get pushed out from the intake manifold connection and then go back into ur intake before the turbo creating a large boost leak. I just took a 2.5" 45deg elbow and drilled a hole for a little pipe to weld on for that hose as well as welded the flange on. A muffler shop may be able to weld the flange up cheap for you. A buddy of mine welded my flange for $20

I'm having the same issue with mu car as gomba, but mine worked fine until I went into timing / idle adjust mode. I was actually the one who set it up like that on gombas motor,so hopefully this will fix it. I'm going to put a one way check valve ( pcv ) or something for testing and see if that fixes it.

Cool, if you don't get around to checking that, I'll just try and get the flange welded on this weekend at the exhaust shop.

UPDATE!!

I have the idle breather currently going to pre-turbo piping. I boost 9psi, which is *around* stock boost(stock wastegate pressure 7psi supposedly). So, can I still have a major boost leak and still boost at stock pressure? If not, then maybe the idle breather pre-turbo actually isn't a boost leak?

p.s. the boost break up issue I was having was due to intercooler piping boost leak. Car runs great now! Just wondering if I need to spend the money/time to move the idle breather.

When my stock wastegate would open by it self, the most I could boost is 5 psi. So if you had a leak, the breather on the intake of the turbo, then you wouldn't be able to get up to even 7 psi.

ya, so what's going on w/the idle breather pre-turbo? Possibly another SR20 forum myth...I've ran into quite a few of these during my build
