Good thing I searched. I'm thinking of going to check out some turbo motors. Was about to post about shaft play. Thanks man. It's not common knowledge to everybody.

I am not sure why most people don't know this information. You can get the assembly specs for most turbo's which will have the tolerance for normal shaft movement. I have not seen any one actually measure the amount of play they had and give the factory spec.

I will have to see what I can find on that one. I have a very small amount of axial play on my t25 but I'm not sure how much is acceptable.

Interested in this response for the T25 or any turbo in general.
Just getting in to a turbo build and bought a very cheap T25 advertised in need of a rebuild.
I have no problem rebuilding it but am having some probs finding a rebuild kit somewhere other than ebay! so am curious as to what is acceptable.

Plenty of axial play in the one i've got here.

Don't buy an eBay rebuild kit, unless you want to rebuild it again shortly thereafter.

Send it to GPopShop. (www.gpopshop.com) It'll come back to you like brand new, and is fairly cheap.
