First Time Inside My W11
So I'm casually driving along, I see a friend who is a fan of my car so I drop it in second and mash the throttle, tires spin and I miss third gear. No big deal, except all of the sudden my car sounds like an STI with full exhaust. I guessed it was a rocker arm, and indeed it was. Actually I broke two of them on the same cylinder. I was stoked that it was something easy, and then I get to looking at my cams, and they have some nasty pits/cuts in them .
Here are a couple of pics:
Now, I hate missing chances to upgrade, so here is what I am thinking:
Minimally:
S4 Cams
Rocker Arms and Shims (I have 8 rocker arms and 8 of each shim type off an old engine)
Extravagantly:
S4 Cams
Brian Crower Titanium Springs and Retainers
New Intake and Exhaust Valves
New Valve Guides
AEBS Headstuds
New Headgasket (which is the best right now?)
Minor Porting
3 Angle Valve Job
My question is, what are the chances that my valves are boned on the cylinder that this happened to?
If anyone has any insight or suggestions on what I should do...
Thanks all,
-Mitchell
