well i can drive it around fine but this damn idle thing is annoying as hell. everytime im at a light i just constantly revs! me and my boss were talking and he had a similar issue with his bmw and he said it was a vacume leak making his car do that so im going to start there.

also the sputtering at a certain rpm is FALSE. what is happening is i cant keep a constant speed with out it bogging. if i stay at 55 mph it will slow down like im not pushing the gas down and i have to press the gas down a little more for it to come back. wtf? its fine when im steady speeding up but i cant keep that constant speed without it bogging

here is what is happening in DC SCOTTYS words and what we got done

Yep, we got some of the bugs out but not all...

Completed:
-NO Engine CODES..
-Got rid of the racing 3000-5000 rpm idle (air regulator vacuum leak).
-Set Fuel Regulator to 4 bar & Installed inline gauge
-Engine Harness Grounds secured on the Intake Mani secured
-Regrounded the MAF (.001) to Intake Mani
-Set the TPS to spec
-Changed the IACV/AAC (from old engine)
-Adjusted the timing (but its not accurate currently)

Problems remaining:
-Engine is still hunting real bad (1200-1900 rpm @ idle) - Unknown cause
-Dizzy leaking oil from dizzy VC seal
-Old spark plugs need changing
-O2 Sensor wiring is to close to hot components; requires wire extended & rerouting

Suspect a vacuum leak is still lurking around somewhere. This is a true DET Intake and has some unfamilar connections.

Need help with vacuum line connections to the Air Regulator on the bottom of the intake mani. It has 4 connections: Normal Input & output hoses AND 2 vacuum connections (front & back connections)..
We capped both vacuum connections currently, but how/where are they suppose to connect???
Searching for someone that has setup this type of Air Regulator.

car is running great now! well almost. my whole problem was the stupid intake spacers on the throttle body. it does not make the butterly close all the way like its suppose to letting more air in at idle then it needed to making everything go stupid. i had to take the bar and heat it up and hit it with the hammer to strech it out. now it does not hum back and forth. it just stays at a constant 3grand but now i can put it in timing mode and adjust it, im happy now. and will be even more when i have the idle right

I love the engine bay.

Get that distributor leak fixed ASAP. If it gets bad enough it will leak about half a quart of oil in a day (depending on how you drive it). It will also dirty up that clean engine bay, you wouldnt want that to happen would you? Its a quick 5 minute fix.
