Thread: 2.5 vs 3 in exhaust chime in plz

I'm debating what to run on my car. I want to run 2.5 with maybe an sti muffler and a res so the car is quiet. At the same time 3 in I know I'll make more power. The setup will be a det with a disco potato on it.

Side note. I haven't gotten a ticket in 4 years and my insurance is finally cheap right now. I would like to keep it that way.

What do you guys think? How much power and I going to lose?

With a disco I'd say go 3" there will defiantly be some power loss with a 2.5". Just run a Resonator with it.

a res with a disco is all you will need. It will be reasonably quiet. Very fun. 3" is the ONLY way to go when in the neighborhood of 300whp. It helps spool a lot.

Magnaflows with 5" or 6" cans
