I have dragged race many an SER and never had this problem.

Solid engine mounts ( Nismo, prothane ) get rid of 60% of wheel hop, Solid rubber bushings for the control arms about 20% and a frount sway bar will completly get rid of wheel hop.

I will admit that welding on that pc for the second 17mm bolt will cause less stress on the back of the tranny so good job on that.

That is the first time I see something like that.

hell, so do i get the first time taking the bolt hole chunks out of a tranny, haha now dont i feel special. haha your probably right. im thinking a couple of the bolts may have worked loose. i mean that isnt what typicly happens from wheel hop, usually just the case under the bracket, oh well. im just trying to salvage the tranny and make a much better support for the rear that hopefully will eliminate the tranny cracking if wheel hop occurs.

ive cracked the same bolts holes before, the tranny dropped and pined the shift linkage so that i couldnt get the car into 1st 3rd and reverse iirc.

i attribute to wheel hop, ive since installed a solid front motor mount, along with the full prothanes ive had and have had no issues due to wheel hop, 98% eliminated wheel hop.

this happened on the way to the 2006 convention .

that sucks stratton, same here, didnt even get one good pass down the track. MPH was better than expected for starting in 3rd gear at 25mph. haha

what have you done to remove the wheel hop? I would have started with that first. Getting solid mounts (You can get plastic epoxy and fill your points for cheap, or window weld, or just go buy some prothanes) along with a lower control arm brace removed all of my wheel hop. Nothing but smooth spinning.

That's the key. I have tried out a bunch of different mount setups using stock mounts, ES mounts, Prothanes, and solid metal mounts in various combinations. Any combination I've tried using a solid metal dogbone has had zero wheelhop (even using stock side mounts).

www.turbotime.us/ has the one pictured above. I also made one from scratch for another project:

Traction bars are a wsste of time and not needed.

Also the front dog bone mount can be made with one rubber pc. I use the small round rubber pc fron the stock dog bone and make the top solid has enough rubber to get rid of vibrations but yet no movement as the rubber is to small to have any give.

Really? The whiteline lower control brace was one of my more fav mods. Stiffened up the front noticably and eliminated my wheel hop. Not sure how it compares to 'traction bars' but I wouldn't say that the whiteline bars are a waste by any means.

The Whiteline brace in not a drag race traction bar. It is made to stiffen the car so that the shocks do the work and not allow the body to flex. More made for cornering.

I have one but have not put it on my car yet
