Gti-R engine into a p10, what's needed?
I think I'll be putting a Gti-R DET into my 1993 Primera GT soon. Since i live in Sweden, and will be ordering an engine from abroad (propably UK), I need to know exactly what to ask for.

So what stuff do I need for my swap, and what can I use from my highport DE?
I've read I need to use the DET ECU and MAF, and the primera flywheel/tranny. But what about other stuff?

What about
Other sensors?
Engine mounts?
Starter?
Alternator?
O2 Sensor?

Anything more i will need from the pulsar gti-r?

What are your power goals? I"d suggest looking to get a bluebird or an avenir SR20DET. THey can be had for less money and make respectable power.

Guys here in the States are just swapping their original sensors over to the DET. Engine Mounts you use what you already have. I'd suggest upgrading to a more solid design for the front mount and rear mount.

Starter you use your own.
Alternator you use the one you already have.

02 sensor I'm not exactly sure the particulars of what is needed there. Maybe somebody else will add to this thread.

From what I remember you use your own O2 sensor but there might be an issue with the threads that go into the exhaust manifold of the DET motor.

You should search more thoroughly here, on sr20forum.com, and g20.net. Between the three forums you'll probably find all the info you'll need in regards to swapping a DET motor into your Primera.

Not sure what o2 sensor you have but the threading is replaceable with a skinny or fat sensor to accommodate whatever type you need.

I also agree about the bluebird or avenir motor. The GTI-R is a good motor but the others can be had for less money and can make just as much power.

Think I'll go stock to begin with, and see if 230hp satisfies me first. Maybe 250-270 later.

Guess there wasn't ever any det avenir/bluebirds in Europe so I don't think it'll be any cheaper for me, since I have to pay 28.5% VAT and toll duty on the price+shipping charges on everything I buy from outside the EU.
Gti-r engines, however seems to grow on trees in the UK.
Almost only rwd Det's can be found here in sweden.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
