Summer build for 2009
Hey guys

I am sitting on the fence right on which way to go
I need some help, after endless hrs of reading post and researching I stuck on a fence.

either sr20ve head swap on a w10
or gtir swap.

right now my set up
b15 with sr20ve + bolt on's and 75shot of nitrous.

the reason is; I got my hands on a sr20ve with rod barring gone and that's what I am using to do if I do the head swap. Or just sell the head and extra parts or get a gti-r motor and swap it in.

w10 I found for 850 just motor no harness or ecu from Tiger japan
Gti-r 1600 from Toronto Jdm complete with motor and harness and ecu.

Parts I have so far are:
Sr20ve metal head gasket
Arp head bolts
walbro fuel pump
Nismo fpr and gauge
calum ecu just need a chip made for the new setup.
harness adaptor b15 to b14
act clutch (heavy duty)
electric oil and mech boost gauge
wideband aem.
apexi vafc
on order
3inch downpipe
Intercooler and kit
dog bone if I go with head swap.

The reason I'm thinking of the gtir swap is that, It comes with the 444cc, and itb's, and t28 already
the w10- t25 and 370cc, but it will have vvl 9.3:1 Comp and Nitrous 75shot wet
the sooner i get a decision the better so i can be boosted, N/a +spray was fun but i want the power all the time. Your not allowed to run nitrous on the street. So

my friend and i will be doing the swaps, i personally am leaning towards the headswap, but then i think about gti-r so some input would be great thanks guys.

ohh ya so far i am the only b15ve in ontario, and if i go do the head swap, only b15ve+t on ontario.

any insight will help thanks guys

No man i dont but if u give me ur email i did a write up when i was going to make one, but i just bought one, but i used that to make sure mine was good.

the turbo option is the factory t25 run 7-10psi at 6500rpm if i do the head swap,
then next year i wanna upgrade to a GT2860RS, by 2010 i want at least 300whp.

thanks

Lol I am not greedy, 300whp that's responceive. I think that's enough for a daily driver soooo...negative comment not needed

300 whp is more than enough for a daily driver. any one who says others wise most likely doesn't have a car with that much power. any thing over 250 is pushing it on the street with any non R compound tire any way.

LOL I have a daily driver with more then that much power. 250whp is baby stuff when it comes to the street nowadays. R compounds for 250+whp would be super over kill. Even the FWD turbo cars out now have 250whp stock. They run street tires also.

Rob hopefully you can tell i was joking. Honestly if your looking for a daily driver I would just go with the Avenir motor its self. The VE headswap is cool if you just want to say you have it. But for 300whp its not really needed. A t28 would put you at 300whp easily without even opening the motor up any. The GTi-R and the VE are sort of over kill for what you want to do (money wise and effort wise IMHO). You want to keep it as simple as you can while getting everything you want out of the motor. I see people build the **** out of a motor and then put a T28 on it to make the same hp they wouldve without building the motor. Then I see people not build a motor and put huge t3/t4's on the cars. Its normally the guys with the simple thought out setups that are reliable and didnt cost an arm and a leg for what it was. Keep it simple

ya man thanks i kinda hoped u were joking, i hate seeing ppl thrash on other ppl. i understand where ur comming from, but det internals are rated to what 400-450, so we see what it has in store.

thanks

I voted for the VE head swap, but if 300 WHP is your goal, you don't need to do anything to that W10 engine to make that.
