Going to the dyno. Have question please.
Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could answer this question. How much boost can I safely run on 93 pump gas? I am going to the dyno this weekend (weather permitting) and I get 3 pulls for $75. I will be monitoring my a/f very closely during each run, but would like to have an idea of my upper limits before I go.

I’ve been searching around and everyone has similar but different supporting mods that may or may not make a difference. So, I thought I would quickly throw it out there and see if I could get a little advice and make the most of my dyno session. Wish me luck!

Mods are:

Avenir motor with stock manifold and j-pipe.
FMIC
Disco Potato
Cobra MAF
555 injectors
Walbro 255
Stock cams
3” VRS downpipe and full VRS exhaust. No cat.
3” intake pipe with JWT filter
JWT ecu

I’ve been running around town with my max set at 14psi for the past 6 months and it sure has been fun replacing trannies!!!

With your JWT ECU? Assuming it's tuned for your setup up to and maybe past 21 psi then you can probably expect to be able to run 18-21 psi on 93 pump. Well, I could. Not sure about you.

If you can, negotiate an hourly fee. Paying per pull is stupidity.

Best power will be found from 12.0:1 - 12.2:1 A/F ratios. It's also pretty safe to run 12.0:1, no problem. That's the upper limit though, since you were interested. I'd maybe run a little richer depending on intake temps in the high boost regions.

As a side note, how will you be tuning fuel?

I will ask about hourly rates. Great idea! Thanks

I will not be doing any tuning this go round. Just turn it up a bit and monitor my a/f. I am not going for max power with this car. I just want to know what I can safely run in the event a Viper needs a good ass kicking! Ok, maybe not a Viper. I just want to see where I am at right now with my JWT ecu and my boost controller. I want to add some S4's in the near future and I'm just looking for a baseline at this time.
