JP, is that a holset Hx35 and center section in a garrett housing? I'm looking to do the same on my HX40 8 blade. Do you know if they have a t4 hot side available that I could put my hx40 in? My current housing is a little too big for my taste and I'd like to get rid of the internal gate.

Do you think you could send me a pm when you get a chance?

I have and Borg Warner 62mm turbo .. Its a lot bigger than the hx35 or 40 with a holset hx40 comp housing and a garrett turbine housing.
Regardign to your question yes there are some alternatives you can do what a/r housign do you got? or is in cm2? the 8 blades hx40 its nice for 30lbs if I remember correctly its a 58lbs comp with a 58mm inducer .I recently did a hx35 turbo with a garrett housing for a golf gti look




at 15 lbs super conservative


On a sr it will be about 330-40whp easy

I can't tell which housing it is from the visuals as thre is not much indication... but I think its either 18 or 19cm^2 t4 housing? I would love to use another hot side as this one has got a 4" vband out and i feel its a little too big. I love the t4 inlet though... i just haven't found any information on anyone whom has used anything aside from from alternative t3 housings.

Tokes, if you want a T4 inlet and 3" V-band outlet on the hot side you could look into the Turbonetics F1-35R (alternate link with picture). They come in journal bearing too. Split pulse though...

On second thought there are probably less exotic solutions out there.

Yeah, i'm just looking for something cheap and creative I can swap housings with. I can roll with what I have since its t4 & twin scroll but its ugly, lol (has interal w/g stuff on it still)... and I have to use a 50 dollar 4"-3" v band reducer to run exhaust. Yep, twin scroll is preffered actually because its going on a v6.

JP, I'm sorry for thread jacking - if you want you can delete my posts. I know you guys play with the borg/holset/garrett turbos a lot... do you think you could help me with choosing non wastegated housing for the t4 HX40?

Do not worry man.. look take the turbine housing out I need to see the cartridge I know I can swap a garrett holset etc but I need to see wich one.
