Also, BOVs are insanely expensive. You guys toss around Synapse and HKS SSQV like it ain't no thang.
There's no reason to spend more than $50 on a 1G DSM BOV or $45 on a Bosch diverter valve (if you plan on staying recirculated) if you're running low boost.
There's no reason to spend any money at all if your current BOV is workign fine and you're happy with it.
I'd recommend keeping the recirculation just because the car will run better, and that's my style (sleeper). If you want to vent to atmosphere, more power to yah, just do it right.
Yeah, I'm not really planning on running atmospheric...at least not any time soon. I too love the sleeper style. As you've seen in the pics, it's a helluva sleeper.
But the little whistle I can hear inside the car is satisfying to me...while at the same time, not giving too much away. In fact, I think I'm giving less away by making the BOV work properly! That compressor surge was loud, and now...with the BOV blowing off into the recirc hose, it's muffled quite a bit. I still think I need to do a little more adjusting on the BOV though...just to be safe. And I definitely need to turn down the boost controller...I saw 15psi this morning, and I don't want to over-boost. I mean, the motor has Eagle rods, and Weisco pistons...but I don't want to take any chances if I dn't have to. Plus...more boost, means more fuel...means more money lol.
