Also, BOVs are insanely expensive. You guys toss around Synapse and HKS SSQV like it ain't no thang.
There's no reason to spend more than $50 on a 1G DSM BOV or $45 on a Bosch diverter valve (if you plan on staying recirculated) if you're running low boost.
There's no reason to spend any money at all if your current BOV is workign fine and you're happy with it.

I'd recommend keeping the recirculation just because the car will run better, and that's my style (sleeper). If you want to vent to atmosphere, more power to yah, just do it right.
Ha ha, thanks!

Yeah, I'm not really planning on running atmospheric...at least not any time soon. I too love the sleeper style. As you've seen in the pics, it's a helluva sleeper. But the little whistle I can hear inside the car is satisfying to me...while at the same time, not giving too much away. In fact, I think I'm giving less away by making the BOV work properly! That compressor surge was loud, and now...with the BOV blowing off into the recirc hose, it's muffled quite a bit.

I still think I need to do a little more adjusting on the BOV though...just to be safe. And I definitely need to turn down the boost controller...I saw 15psi this morning, and I don't want to over-boost. I mean, the motor has Eagle rods, and Weisco pistons...but I don't want to take any chances if I dn't have to. Plus...more boost, means more fuel...means more money lol.

Yeah turbo cars usually see more boost when it's colder

Yeah, I mean I have the supporting mods (injectors, internals, fuel pump, all that) just want to be careful.

Actually, the Synapse is quite a bit cheaper than the SSQV. At least mine was. I paid $200 for my Synapse, vs. almost $300 when I bought the SSQV.

That's a good point TeKKiE. But NOT changing the BOV is cheaper than that, for right now anyway. But I might just start saving some cash here and there, and maybe sometime buy another BOV. The Synapse IS pretty great...but we'll see.

I would, but the car's in CT. I'll capture some vids of it when I get back up that way.

It's pretty loud, but just a whoosh kinda sound. No whistling or anything else like that.
