Ok...so now I'm getting all sorts of mixed signals. I know the difference between a wastegate and a BOV. But I got one person saying (and an installation guide I saw somewhere) the top nipple needs to go to mani pressure behind the TB. And I got two (now) saying it needs to be before the TB. Decisions, decisions.but seriously...where does it need to go?

Another thing is to adjust the BOV properly. You need to take all the nipples and adjustment screws with threads on them and apply teflon to them. That will seal all the leaking that they do unsealed. Then you need to rent a vacuum pump and adjust the point that the plunger STARTS to lift whether open or recirculated.

open- about 15 psi or so
recirc.- lower about 12 psi or so.

but you have to play around with it a bit.

And I didnt mean to do it before the TB. It has to be after the TB.

My bad.

Ok. I'm fairly certain my friend has a vac. pump, and I'm probably going to be seeing him this weekend. I'll check that out.

LOL ok, so after the TB it is. But that, then, couldn't very well be on the IC piping.

EDIT:
Ok TeKKiE, thanks. So the FPR's vacuum line is a good source? Or, anything from the Intake Mani. correct?

EDIT again:
Thank you guys, so much, for all your help. Damn this forum is awesome! So glad I finally listened to RobChaos and got into the SR20 scene. You guys are awesome.

That's cool. Some people use different terminology. But I think I got it straight now.

No problem. Vac pump as previously stated is a MUST with the Type S BOV being used as a recirculated BOV. Don't want it to open to soft, or too hard.

For future reference, you should get a snynapse They're great, don't need any adjustment, and also come with a recirculation fitting you can take out if you don't need it.

Yeah the synapse is great. But I rather like the whistle of the Greddy.

So, on a semi related note...is it safe to just run the BOV open? Once I fix the vacuum line issue, of course...
