I LOVE THIS CLUTCH! The only draw back is the noise, and I am sure the wear is pretty brutal on the flywheel. At this power level if this clutch holds up it will be the best setup once again. Brian knows his stuff!

I actually did last night. The car didn't seem to run much different, but the exhaust got a little lopey and a bit louder. I am going to try some interesting things very soon!

Now this is where I want to focus spending some time on the dyno! The VET exhaust lobe is HUGE looking at it today! Speaking of which, I decided to do the baseline run with the standard VE cams instead of the VET cams. Since I am positive the 20VE cams will outperform the VET intake, I am going to start there. I just finished swapping the cams and I am feeling very good about this. I am about to take her for a spin with the VVL engaging at 5500rpm!

Then I am going to try swapping the VET exhaust cam in and see what happens to overall power and spool.

As fast as the car feels, it doesn't have the powerband I am looking for. It is very very peaky and just keeps pulling and pulling! That being said, I don't make much midrange torque. My buddy in his wrx with I/H/E and STI turbo on 19psi pulls on me hard in the midrange and I don't stand a chance until over 6500rpm. By then I have only 1000rpm of good pull and then I shift...right out of the power. Uhg. That being said, I feel like the car was barely making over 300whp. Not by much by the butt dyno. But man does it FEEL like you are motoring! The thing is a monster and the response is incredible!

So I took her out tonight and boy can I tell you the VVL hits nicely! I can actually feel the power increase. The only downside is the VET cams had better response and spooled the turbo much quicker. There is a slight latency now, but when the VVL kicks it pushes you into the seat and sounds so sexy!

Maf voltage is stuck at around 4.18V at near redline. On 24psi I was at 4.52V peak. Right now I have the VVL ex hitting at 3500rpm to help spool, and the intake at 5000. You don't really feel the intake much, but the exhaust hits very good.

The VE cams seem to put out just a bit more power than the VET cams, and throw you back a lot harder when they switch! I just don't know for sure which one makes the most power, but the standard cams seem to pull harder on the top end for sure. Prob 20whp difference on this low of boost. I am now spinning tires through 1'st and really fighting traction in 2nd. I would like to see what kind of power the VE intake cam and the VET exhaust cam make. The VET cams are the king of response! The boost was instantaneous, and just downright nasty! But the VE cams make more power. Sigh. Perhaps I can find a happy medium between the two, and switch the VET exhaust onto its high lobe!

The nice thing about the VE cams is that they are soo quiet compared to the VET cams. The VET exhaust sounds like the VVL is on all the time. It is loud and obnoxious. the VE cams sound smooth and silky, and idle better.

Finally though, it is good to feel the kick of the VVL once again. I am hooked. Now I want those SR16 cams!

This is the outcome i expected. With the ve intake and vet ex it will be interesting as well, but i think you should expect the same, if not slightly better response with decent top end.

the only question for me is whether the 20v low in and vet ex has better response than the 20v low's or even vet lows which it should, as i spoke to you about the compromise in the vet cams.

id hold out on those 16ve cams unless you can get them very cheap.

Sounds pretty mean in the vids. Its a little laggy for my taste but i like instant response for a roadracing and auto-x, which is what i like to do with the nx the most.

I am pretty sure with some tuning and playing around with the cams you will definately beat your buddy. I know a guy with a full tune and all aps parts on his sti, well needless to say he never thought my little blue nissan would pull on him. LOL That was with the 10:1 engine, emanage, 02induction manifold, and a gt2871r.

Either way you car is bad a##.

The car must have picked up 10whp easily by changing the timing to 15*. When I changed the cams yesterday I just set the dizzy in the middle and took her out. The car is downright nasty and is more responsive with the extra timing. but still not as quick to spool as that VET exhaust. That thing is a monster at spooling the turbo!

I really really wanted to drop the VET ex in today so I could feel the insta-boost again, but I held back because I want dyno results first! I want to be able to compare the results back-to-back so I can see EXACTLY which one works the best and why. I am excited to get the VET exhaust switching because the cam has a ton of duration on the big lobe and I really feel like the top end could benefit from the VET big lobe.

The top end pull with the 20VE cams is rediculous. It desperately needs more revs to be fast, as it just keeps pulling harder and harder until the rev limiter. I think I am going to invest in some valve springs soon, but the budget was far overblown on this manifold lol. The twin smaller wastegates set me back a lot!

I wish the car could boost 10psi by 3000rpm, but it just won't happen with this big of a turbo. It still seems to hit full boost by 3700 rpm but I really really loved the response from the VET cams.

I want to rev so badly but these standard cams are only good to like 7500rpm without floating like crazy.

compared to the other runs this last winter, this looks very very good. Can't wait to see power numbers.

Nice vids! Looks like it pulls great in the upper r's. Closed course LOL Usually you dont use blinkers on a closed course.
