Well, a new development today. I sent off the turbo to ATP because my guy is too slow getting ahold of stuff. ATP quoted me $450 via Email but when I called today I talked to a rep that said it would be $550. This is a bit frustrating, because I was quoted a price a lot lower than that.

I told her about the email so she said she will honor that price, but she said there is a $50 inspection fee. Hmmmm, that was mysteriously not part of the email quote either. I am not really that frustrated at this point, but I would like to get everything correct the first time. Also, when do quotes have hidden fees? I don't really feel like paying $50 for a 5-10 min inspection.

So I just hope I can get this for the price as quoted, because I have done all my business for lines, fittings, the turbo, and housing, from ATP. But I have hit a few bumps with them before and I hope they take care of me this time. They have been very good about taking care of me in the past.

Well, since I am waiting for this CHRA to show up... I decided to scrap the single wastegate idea. I mean, I want to save money and more importantly, space, but I really want to have the benefits of a twin wg setup. So I have decided to go with a twin tial 38mm with 1 bar springs. I will run 1 bar instead of 1.1. This will get rid of the 2nd spring in one wg.

But I have the collector here and to merge these two pipes into one will be a bit of a hassle anyway. I am going to try and make room for these wastegates because the old tial units are very big hahaha. I would like to upgrade to the new vband ones that are smaller, but they are out of my budget for straight line performance. I am still working on suspension parts for next year!

I ordered a new clutch, and I had to come up with something that would hold power. About 500+lbft of torque just for safety. So I thought about doing something like I did on my last sentra and get a DSM 2200lb pp and modifying the dowel pins on the flywheel to fit the larger cover. This worked flawlessly on my old car, so I figured a metal disk and a DSM cover would work well.

But after talking to Brian at Clutch Specialties, we decided to modify pivot points and diaphram spring to fit the stock Nissan cover. This one will bolt right on and should have enough clamp for 525lbft! All for a price that would make ACT owners jealous. This thing is going to be a monster, but hopefully not for my old knees lol.

So clutch should be here next week. Which means I def should make over 450whp now since the clutch can actually hold up.

The new CHRA should have been shipped today, but I will have to wait for it to show up. I am hoping to have the car dyno'd again sometime the end of this month!

I've never had a problem with clamp load on the clutch, its always been the clutch splines that fail at high TQ/HP levels. at 500lb ft at the wheels usually the clutch disk splines will strip out. I suggest you talk to them about making the spline length as long as possible so you get more surface area on the input shaft. I never had a B15/P11 trans fail, but about 6 clutch disks, 3 different companies too...

Just get a twin disk clutch & forget about it.

Thought about the twin disk, but they are too pricey for what I do with the car. I don't want the extra noise that comes with one, but price is really what holds me back from them. I really wanted one, but this one is 1/5th the price and should work just fine.

I'm not really worried about the disk that much. He has some good ideas to hold some serious power. I just hope it works. I don't really need overkill since the car isn't going for 1.6 60' times. I just wanted to make sure that the clutch wouldn't slip under the heavy abuse on the track, or when I need to slip her a bit.

CA18, yes I got my old CHRA traded in. For a really great price too imho. It should be here in a few days. Maybe beginning of next week.

New wastegate is on the way. I will be lowering the spring from 1.1bar to 1bar. This will lower boost to around 14psi at the intake manifold instead of 15psi. I am still expecting some good power gains despite less boost.

Still waiting for the clutch and the CHRA to show up. I'm gonna call ATP tomorrow. I have to get another 1bar wastegate spring anyway.
