good luck man on fixing all those issues. sucks about the turbo, maybe that was from your spark plugs that you kept breaking off. That would be my guess. I think you really need a good tubular manifold man, I think that log is really killing you, I know its been said probably a million times, but i think im making more power than you are on my ebay tubular mani and 14psi.

That log can only go so far before you get stuck

Hey Coheed why dont you send your turbo into Forced Performance and then upgrade to the HTAgt3076r

I think it is dumb that they charge so much for a turbo when I know they mark it up by hundreds of dollars. I do know someone who may be able to get the CHRA for a cheaper price, but I don't know how much. I will keep you guys posted though. This project must continue, regardless of cost. I have already spent too much on this turbine housing and manifold to change setups for something different.

I thought of this as a chance to upgrade, but what would I upgrade to? There isn't another turbo that is as responsive as this that will make 500whp, and there isn't a point in getting a GT35R (with more lag) when my MAF will only support 550whp or so. Also, injectors and fuel pump will only support that much too.

I have the capability of having a 500whp monster of a car, but I don't really want to push it to an extreme that will make the car a trailor queen. Otherwise I have a GT4088 that I could use

dude run this turbo seriously

IF the HTA will just get me the new wheels on this center section then I will just do that. All it really needs is the exhaust wheel. The rest of the turbo is fine. But I wouldn't mind trying that bigger compressor wheel out

I thought it could have been the plug that caused this damage, but it would be hard to believe. The piece of plug was very small, about the size of a sesame seed off your hamburger. But I guess if that wheel is really spinning it could cause this damage. The weird thing is that I didn't notice any difference in performance, and I have noticed some slight wear in the compressor housing (from the wheel touching it) months ago before a plug ever broke. I only had 2 plugs break, but only 1 had debris go though the turbo.

That SUCKS big time man...
About the HTA its Borg Warner comp wheel... this turbos are meant to be run on very high pressures to take advantages of the comp wheel ( like 25 plus lbs) and the price its also a issue...(expencive) if you want it buy it new like 1700+ a 35r would be very nice option man.. with your concurrent VET cams and a twin scroll manifold a 1.06 turbine housing would make full boost at 4000 or arround that in 4gear in your car if you want to even get a better spool get the 0.78 .

I have seen this happen so many times on GT series turbos GT30 GT35 GT42... I think this is some king of defect or some kind of clearance issues between the wheel and the housing or maybe GT wheels are just weak I dont know but it suck... because they cant be repaired...

yes, but the borgy comp wheels have quite a broad comp map so they are still reasonably efficient at low boost.

do not ask me how I know jajajaja(about the comp wheel on the Borgs...)
I think its your opportunity to put a 35 type turbo .. it will make 550whp easy under 20-22lbs on the dynojet.
Cheers.

lol

i recon crank a mr turbo unit. they are seriously the bomb, they run the borgy comp wheels, the best center section known to man.....genuine silicon nitrate duel ball bearing (basically means you can pust then thing to crazy limits) and very similar to garrets ex wheels. you can run just about any combination wheel out there. He has had a fair bit of experience setting up twin scroll set ups as well. By that i mean what comp/ex wheel combo's work best.
