ring gap ?
what kind of ring gap are you guys running on your built motors, my buddy was telling me that some cars, when planning to run over 20psi you should file the rings a little bit ? anyone have any info or a basic rule about ring gap and boost pressures ?

what I use for turbo motors

top ring=.006 per inch of bore
second ring=.0045 per inch of bore
oil rings-.015 total

It worked just fine on the RWD motors I did

I run my piston rings really tight. Everyone says they are too tight, but the motors all make power and never seize and the rings never butt or showed signed when taken apart to inspect.

I did .019 on top ring, and .021 on 2nd ring on stock bore. You can go tighter, and I would in retrospect. The ring gaps that the companies tell you with the piston set are a little conservative and are there to keep you from butting rings under extreme heat.

You won't have any problem going a little bit tighter, plus you get the benefits of less blowby/better compression.
