Knocking DE = rebuild and DE+T?
I bought P10 4x4 SR20DE. Engine is knocking. I was thinking if it is possible to do a rebuild and put on T25/T28 on low boost and be fine?

Engine is Redtop 10:1 DE
head is 53J
block is 78E - BlueBird SR20DET (53J Head) Larger Exhaust Valves

Will FWD DE or DET crank fit in this block? What about using DET rods and pistons? It will be like DET expect oil squiters right?

G20 discussion about P10 4x4 DE hybrid - HERE

PS: 250whp with T28, cams and suported mods are enough for me.

Yes you can put a de or det crank into your block. Det rods and pistons will also work. You are correct the only thing you wont have is the squirters, which are not needed for you hp goals. Alot of people delete them depending on hp goals, it has not been proven that they are needed.

If you are going to use gtir stuff keep in mind larger bearings are needed and some machining depending on what you are gonna use. The gtir head is also completely different. Get a t28 and some jwt s4,s and the supporting fuel and management mods and also a 2.5 or 3" exhaust and call it a day.

Only the det and the gtir have squirters, from my experiences. I have had a 10:1 engine and it didnt have squirters. I cant confirm the red top 10:1's though as i have not had one.

Ok.. what you can recommend me? Im thinking about taking another DE engine and use crank and maybe head (this one is dirty inside). Plus DET rods and pistons. What else is needed? New bearings, piston wrins,..? Do you think cylinders would be fine and boring isnt needed?

I have an offer for DET pistons and rods. Here are grade numbers.

# on block is 20000
Starting from #1-#5
Crank-43221
Starting from #1-#4
Rods-1222

Does it matter what grage my block is or it is only about bearings?

The top of the block will have the piston grades you need next to each cylinder.

You should at inspect the cylinder walls for scoring or any bad spots. Typically, if your current pistons look okay when you take them out, then the cylinder walls are okay. Might need to get it cleaned and stuff tho.

Bearings are sometimes tricky as parts break down over time. You could get lucky and use the one's that are listed for you or you can get your mains and rod bearings measured.

Here is a quick info guide below for main and rod bearings:
