My car hardley ever sees 200 degrees and the fans hardley never ever turn on. i had to let the car sit for about 30 minutes on idle for it to come on

This is why I'm not wanting to use water wetter, but it is cheaper then a new rad.

Well it was also probably around 40° if not colder the last time i saw that temp. The car hasn't been driven for a while so I don't know if that was exactly how it was but it was close.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I thought something was wierd about what I said.

I thought that too.

Thermostat opens at 170* on factory. If you are getting over 200 than you are getting warmer than you should unless really beating on it. Hell, I beat the hell outta mine and never see past 195 unless it is over 100* outside.

Finally some correct info about the thermostat in here.

I've been thinking about adding some Redline Water Wetter, but did see the Godspeed Aluminum Radiator for under $200 and wondering if that would be a better solution. Thing is though, I heard that warm up times may increase with Water Wetter and the car will cool down faster with the radiator.

Are there any other good/bad things that I should know between each option?

Thanks!

^I'm going to do both. I had people giving me crap when I posted that link in my thread for a true brand new 2.0L radiator. I was like WTF?

^Did you ever figure the intercooler thing out from that thread? I almost took my innercooler out yesterday and posted a pic of what Miko was talking about with the hood latch being mounted on top of the intercooler. I pulled my motor yesterday and thought about posting a pic. I may still do that, but it want be till the weekend.

What kind of radiator are you running? Also any help from magic fluids?

I've bled the whole system, still get about 195*F with easy city driving and as soon as it idles it goes to 210*F.

I'm with vadim. LOL my car must be ****ed up. Since the day I got it, the temps have sat at about 205-210 all day and my fans kick on at 212. That is WITH water wetter. I do live in florida and its always hot but I dunno. Strange, it runs perfect and the factory gauge never ever moves past the middle even when my aftermarket gauge shows 215 when I'm heavy on the boost it soon drops back to about 205.

Vadim, do BOTH!

Wire up your fan to your ac switch, it works great. All you have to do is connect the fan wire from your ecu to your ac switch so it grounds out when you turn on the ac switch. (on a B13 at least). Just use a splicer, do not cut the wire and you do not loose any functionality of the stock fan trigger.

It is very useful especially when you are idling in traffic or at the paddock during racing events.

Your coolant should be around 200 or below in this weather imo. But at idle it is completely understandable that the temperature could climb well over that with no airflow over the rad.

Best of luck my friend.

vadim although you do have a/c i live where it gets 120+ deg out. all last summer i was turbo'd and i was running a stock sentra radiator with one flexalite 1200cfm fan and my temps never saw over 200 deg, although i do have my fan on at all times though so that helps. Id say if you want some major cooling action get an aluminum radiator, water wetter, flexalite twin fans and a nismo thermostat, that motor will stay cooler than ever and will be bullet proof even under spirited driving in the middle of a hot summer day.

You'd suprised on how much of a load a/c puts on a car in stop and go traffic. I could tell when one of my fans died because it would overheat alittle in stop and go... Otherwise I've never had a problem with cooling.

The more upgrades the better. As long as thermostat works right you can't have too much.
