car feels like it hits a wall at 3500-4000 rpm
I'm having issues with the g20 right now. IT's been turbocharged since September and ran great and after a few months, bc stage 2 cams were installed. This is were the problem started. It idles like **** too. 14 inches of vacuum at 900-1000 rpm. Car feels like it hits a wall at 3500-4000 rpm when on full boost. Throttle response before it hits 3500-4000 rpm is perfect. If I feather the throttle without hitting boost, it would go up to redline. It feels like a boost leak. I pressure tested the ic system and found four leaks and repaired it. My ic piping isn't the best but it did it's job before the cams. The cams are lined up and even Daveracer double checked them. If anyone has any input, let me know. Thanks! Here are the specs of the car....

Same exact problem I had when I installed my cams. You have the mechanical timing wrong. I installed my BC STG2's when N/A, and while flooring the car, anything over 3800rpm would literally feel like someone had put an anchor on the car, and it caught the street behind me.

DEFINITELY mechanical timing.

Dude, no offense, but I'm trying to help the guy with his issue. Can you search the forums to see what timing people are running, or why you're having issues? (ECU for starters is a no no)

OP - Have you checked mechanical timing yet?

check your timming, it might be too much in advance, you have to retard it, same problem with me, i had my distributor in advance and i retard it, works good ever since...

I just had this same exact problem. It was stupid simple.

My air filter was choking off my turbo. Big cams no like cheap ass air filter.
