Which oil pressure gauge?
Which one is better to use in a turbo application, electrical oil pressure gauge or electrical? I have already been through one electrical gauge. The sending unit somehow shorted out. So that is why I am asking which is better?

Well since you had issues with electrical one, you will probably have them again in the future. So just do a mechanical one.

mechanical is nice but can be messy if the oil line breaks. I stopped using auto meter because their sending units are junk. I now use prosport gauges and have had no issues. I think I have went through 3-4 sending units before I switched to prosport. I also use their electrical boost gauge. I know the subbie guys use them too.
VDO electrical here. It is a bit slower but still reads accurately enough and install was squeaky clean. Been working for almost 3 years now.

I am leaning toward mechanical right now but still not sure. I think the other one shorted out because the adapter broke and oil got all over it. That and whatever water it might pick up from when it rains.

I purchased the previous one used so I am thinking I will give autometer one more chance. That and I don't feel like replacing all my gauges with something different since they all match right now.
