I know the one I had I confirmed the sodium filled valves and larger cam on the intake side. I measured the lift against a USDM highport cam with digital calipers and my bud duplicated the measurement independently.
One thing I will say is the piston design is kind of antiquated by todays standards. If you threw a modern set of forged 10: slugs in there from say CP (or whoever) I think you could boost the piss out of it. The only thing is at that point why not throw a set of 10:1 pistons in a DET because the UK motor (mine at least) lacked the oil squirters.
Not too sure on the heads being cleaned up , but from what i know they have a bit better of an intake cam, and sodium filled valves.
Oil squirters arent all they are cracked up to be. Its juast a bit of extra insurance. Either way if your tuning is bad or engine is gonna blow up oil squirters arent going to help you out. there have been plenty of people on de's without oil squirters making alot of hp with no issues.
I would have to agree with using 10:1 aftermarket pistons. I may do this depending on which turbo i go with once i build my engine. i loved the way my old 10:1 drove with a gt2871r.
