MAJOR GTI-R issues????
I took my car out the tonight and everything was ok, but still the turbo was to laggy, which is also not right either because one day i was getting full boost by 2500 and getting no traction 1st though 3rd.. Anyway all of a sudden without pressing the gas the itb's are opening and closing by themselves This in turn is causeing my bov to also open and close because I t'ed off all the throttle bodies to get my vacuum source for my bov. Anybody have any idea what would cause this??? do the throttle bodies need to be adjusted? I need help because the car will not build any boost and clicks and clacks like a wrx. Another wired thing happened too the oil pressure light came on, which is wierd because I cut it off and use a after market ine, so i just figured that the wire was touching some metal or something. somebody please help me out here i can't deal with anymore problems

you havn't messed with the linkages on the throttle bodies at all ?

you havn't blown one of the tubes off the tb's ?

its a weird one,

only time i had really erratic revving was when i stripped a throttle body and messed up the linkage lengths when i put it put it back together, it was all over the place, the owner was there to pick his car up and looked like he was going to cry..lol

Well here is the real problem and the pics. It was a snapped rocker arm in under the valve cover. I am hoping thats all thats wrong. Is there any chance thats all that could have happen or could more stuff happened??

Atleast I found all the parts too including those little pieces that go on th end of the roker arms. The cam has a few scratches, but nothing major.

lmk what you guys think. What should I do next?

inspect for metal shavings in the pan and in the head. If nothing is messed up too bad instal a different rocker arm and run it. I broke 3 rocker arms last summer and threw almost every other one off. I managed to clean things up good, find all of the rocker arms/shims and parts, put a new set in and ran it the rest of the year. It didnt damage the cams but the alum. around the spark plug tower got worked over pretty good.

If you do all of this and it still runs like crap you may have bent some valves. I will cross my fingers for you, i lucked out with mine and there was much more chaos when i opened the valve cover than what you have.

Also use less rtv on the valve cover gasket by the dist. one dot in each corner(werever there is a half circle) and it wont leak.

Later,Jon

In my case i think it was a high mileage engine and i revved it too high i guess. Also i have bad luck, or my nx is cursed one of the 2. I will get some pics of my destruction when i go to my shop next and post them up for you.

take a magnet and go over the head. then change the oil several times and you should be good. also check the lifter to make sure it does not need to be replaced. I threw two rockers arms and broke one last year. the worst part was sanding and polshing the cam lobes.

What head studs and head gaskets do you guys use on your built motors over there?

Also how much could you get me a new complete rocker arm with that springy thing and all shipped to 19018 PA U.S.

thanks
