i should have a spare rocker and spring, will have to have a look, as i may have binned the spares i had that weren't in engines. Think they're all in a big box up the back somewhere. I will send them for free, aint like its going to cost alot.

wont be able to get up there til saturday to check though.

im using standard bolts in the engine im using first, most are now using arps, i'll go with the 12mm cosworth studs on my next one

headgaskets i stick with hks

greg v should be able to get you the parts you need. this happens when you over rev, or a lifter goes bad. can also happen due to low oil pressure.

Thanks for the rocker arm and spring. If something happens and you can't find it or send it please let me know and i'll buy one.I will pm you my address now. Thankyou very much.

About the HG I am probably going with the apexi one, which i heard is very good and for the head studs I guess i have no choice and have to bite the bullet and buy the cosworth set...oh well atleast I'll have piece of mind

I think it came from over revving it. I think I was hiting 8200k at times, so that would explain. My oil pressure was 22psi at idle and 40-60+ when accelerating when warmed up, so that was also fine.

I did mine with a over rev as well.

A few people told me this has happen to them. I though with the solid lifter a and all the head could handle 8k, but I guess the head isn't as strong as I thought. I set my rev limiter to 8k, but it was a soft limier, so it would over rev to 8200, so thats probably why mine eventually went,

Now I am setting it to a stock 7500 and my shift light to 7200 this way i won't over rev.

this does not prevent mechanical over rev. Even if your injectors and ignition shut down the motor is still spinning. Mine happened when I pushed the clutch in and the motor over reved. Another thing that happens is the rockers get loose over time and will pop off. If you have ever changed the cams in any sr powered car you will know how easy the rockers can shift. I had a friends car throw two rocker arms at start up once, and it had a fully upgraded valve train.

It hard not to over rev especially with a lightened flywheel...really gotta concentrate and use a shift light.
