Question about avenir motor
Hey everyone, im relatively new to the dash(i am a member of the other forum) but i htought i come over here and get used to this site

Well i am planning on swapping a det into my b13 this upcoming spring or early summer and i have a few questions;
1. what are the diiferences from the avenir w10,11 to the bluebird motor, besides the turbos and compression ratio and stock boost?
2. will the avenir bolt up exactly like the bluwbird will and do i stil ahve to notch the block if so, where?
3. and i read somewhere that the avenirs are OBD2, what will i have to change on the avenir to get it to work with my OBD1?

*i have searched and came up short, i have read lots and lots of how to and other turbo related threads and here i am.
Thank you
-Wesley

1. The W11 is newer than the U12 and U13 Blubird. The W10 runs the same years as the U13 Bluebird.

2.The Avneir bolts up just like the bluebird. The only notching nees to be done on the uupper oil pan to clear the x member.

3. All you have to do is change the head temp and guage temp sensor. So put in you OBD1 sensors

Thanks so much Andreas, im going to fix my DE and wait on the DET setup so I have enough funds for those very popular "Oh Chit" situations with the turbo. I am going to end up going with an avenir in the end if i can get a W11.
Thanks again,
-Wesley

No, I don't think 2k will be enough. Check out Vadim's build: http://www.sr20-forum.com/members-rides/200-vadims-99-sentra-se-l.html

I asked him how much his DET swap and it was $2600 for him.

Avenir W11 has 9psi stock boost = 227 BHP, while Avenir W10 is 7psi stock boost = 206bhp.

Avenir W11 is ball bearing, thus it will spool quicker and will spin more freely when you turn the engine off. Thus it's better if you don't have a turbo timer.

W11 will cost you twice as much as a W10.

Bluebird motors will usually be with a turbo that is closed up, thus for TMIC setup, Avenir's turbo should be clocked down for FMIC setup.

Avenir W11's are OBDII and have the 6 wire/2 port TPS sensor like the 98-99 Sentra's/200sx's. Some W10's have 6 wire/2 port tps, while others have 3 wire/1 port tps.

With your B13, you will need the 1 wire, your best bet is to get a W10 or a Bluebird. Those are OBDI friendly, but I highly suggest the newer W10's and W11's for OBDII cars.

You will have to modify the oil pan, otherwise you will have like 5cm clearance on the cross member. When your engine movies, it might hit the xmember, thus cracking and leaking all the oil out.

Yep that's how much mine came out to be, but there is more here and there.

Here are the turbo only related items, I didn't count in items that are not a must for basic turbo setup in the first list.

W11 Avenir = $690 +$200 shipping ($900 total)
Stock BOV (Used) = $30 (your engine might come with one)
Intercooler = $100
Ebay Piping = $100
Random Couplers/IC Piping Related = $50
96 ECU (Used) = $70 (I have a 99 uncrackable ecu)
Calum Real Time = $370
Slim Radiator Fans = $60
Dogbone Motor Mount = $100
Walbro 255lph (Used) = $80
Fuel Rail (Used) = $30 (These usually need replacing because of the way they pick up the motors)
Exedy Stage 1 Clutch Kit = $270 (good for 240 ft-lbs of torque)
VRS 2.5" Downpipe (Used)= $170
Turbo Compressor Outlet = $50

Total = $2380

Extras that you may want to look into
Thermoblok Spacers (Used) = $80 (You can get brand new for $108 now in my GB)
Prothane Motor Mounts = $60 plus pressing them in (I did only rear for now $20)
Boost Gauge = $30-$50
Oil PSI Gauge = $30-$100 Depending on mech or electrical
Oil PSI 1/8 NPT to 1/8 BSPT Adapter = $12
