Cant change gears???
My B13 GTiR can not change gears. I started the car up and tried to place in 1st and it would not go into gear. I tried some other gears, some would gind, reverse, started to creep backwards. I tried starting it in 1st and the car started and just started driving. I could not pull it out of first then either though. My clutch has about 5K on it, and the clutch cable if very tight. I tried to push the clutch in and the arm on the tranny does hit max defflection.

Any ideas???

Check your shift linkage. Could be over-tightened. I had to loosen mine on my B14 when I upgraded the bushings, just a tad bit. Does it go in and out of every gear with little resistance when the car is off?

If so, maybe the clutch cable (though you say it's tight), is super stretched and won't fully disengage. Throwout bearing could cause this as well.

The car has a fidanza flywheel and a "JGY special" 6 puck sprung clutch

Ouch. Don't want to have to tell you for sure, but I think you need to drop the tranny and investigate further.

the problem is most likely the clutch or pressure plate. or it's the cable. but the problem is the clutch not engaging and disengaging as it should. i would play around with the clutch cable first. and to be safe, check your gear oil, too.

Is it possible to drop the tranny without dropping the whole engine? I see it is real tight against the driver side wheel well. I started the job this weekend, got the trans bolts loose, unbolted the coilovers, abut could not remove the half shaft retaining nut. I had a friend stand on the brake pedal, and beat on a 3ft extension, but nothing, so I put it all back together for now

Yeah, I crawled under the car today, and found the rear engine mount was really loose. One of the engine bracket bolts was gone and the other was loose. Both of the emgine mount to crossmember bolts were gone as well. I plan to replace the bolts this weekend, and see it that is the problem.
