This keeps the flow up but reduces the actual applied work to the turbine. The T2 .86 a/r 56.5mm 90 trim turbine does flow more than the T3 .63 a/r 60mm 84 trim but because of the turbine scroll/wrap the T3 is more suited for that turbine wheel.

the T2 GT3071R can make over 450whp with the right parts and setup, but if you are using a factory turbo manifold than i'd run the GT2871R especially if your not going to try to get every last HP out of it and be at the track all the time.

See I am looking for 450 if I can get it. I want to be able to make 350 on 15psi instead of 20psi. This is why i want the 3071r instead. I also want to be able to make 450whp on some race at the track.

Now I am wanting some lag too for DD, so this way I won't consistently be boosting and MIGHT even get some better gas mileage??

I am really leaning towards the 3071r more and more because of the later boost and the more hp.

My gt28rs spools slower than my gt28r and the gr2871r spools slower than gt28rs and its was barely noticable. I have driven cars with both setups(gt3071r and gt2871r) both were great i prefered the larger turbo for several reasons. Jon if you are not going external gate I would not mess with a gt3071r. I assumed you would go external with the stock manifold which works great. I had boost creep issues with my setup until I went external gate and I had been running a upgraded actuator and it did not help. I don't think I will run another internal gated turbo again.

I thought Dre moved over to the BB37 region as the best T2 turbo???

I will eventually change to a external, but at first am going to run a internal with a very good actuator, so we will see.

It looks like i am getting the gt3071r unless i can find out some info on this bb37....

jgy is the only place I have seen this turbo. there was a local guy who had one on his gti-r setup back in the day and that car was nasty.

I hate to link this up but here you go. btw I have bought from jason before with any issues.

T3-TO4E Turbo, T25 T28 Turbo, GT25R Turbo, Garrett Turbos, JGY Customs Turbos for Nissan SER, Infinity G20

jon I was running a turbonetics dual pressure actuator and still had boost control issues. the stock j-pipe is restictive and when the waste gate opens it just causes a lot of turbulence. If plan to go external gate in the future send the manifold to dre and let him do it right.

For 450whp, you will need the GT3071R. The GT3076R T2 flange turbo is SIMILAR to the Inconnel turbo, but not the same. the Inconnel turbine housing is a different design and way better for spool and flow.

If you want 450whp with race gas then the 2871 56 trim could get you there. the 2871 56 trim and the 3071 56 trim share the same comp wheel, but the turbine is 53.8mm vs 56.5mm so for 450whp you will need the 3071. Also, make sure your cams, tuning, FMIC, exhaust and such are up to par. With the GTiR exhaust manifold you will also want to do some modifying to increase flow.
