TO RUN E-85 YOU NEED

1. bigger injectors 550cc min
2. bigger fuel pump walbro min
3. i also recommend changing your rubber fuel lines to new ones. (new fuel lines are all e85 compatible.

then get it returned and enjoy the benefits.

mate gained 20% power from just switching the fuel and also going from 12psi to 14psi

also it will have the characteristics of around 110 octane fuel, and many good characteristics of methanol, i.e it will start loosing power before knocking

I don't know exactly how the Calum ECU is set up, but let's just assume that the engine will start and at least idle with E85 in the tank. This might not be the case, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. At this point the car will be running, but it will be about 20% too lean everywhere. EGO correction might mask some of this, but it's still a problem.

You'll need to modify all of the fuel maps to deliver about 20% more fuel everywhere in the load/rpm range.
(And if the car doesn't start or starts poorly, you need to adjust how much fuel is given at start-up by +20%, but I don't know if the Calum ECU has this ability.)

Like ca18 bluebird said though, if you don't have injectors, or a fuel pump that's up to the task of delivering 20% more volume of fuel, you'll need to upgrade those.

Once this is done you're running a fuel with 104 octane and can advance some timing and/or run more boost accordingly.

Dan was making about 420 WHP on E85, but the Walbro 255 wouldn't deliver any more fuel than that. He was at 21 psi and sort of stuck. Instead of upgrading the fuel pump he just switched back to gasoline, installed the alcohol injection kit he already had and upped the boost to 25 psi. He's probably sitting around 450 WHP or so right now on 93 pump and 50/50 water/meth.

He's since taken the car off the road for massive upgrades. A higher flow fuel pump and a switch back to E85 may be in the plans. He's not sure yet.

a Bosch 044 pump will fit into the tank of a 240 and should do the job very good. When I say it will fit means it's a huge pain in the ass but that pump kicks ass.

up to 30% correction on the fuel maps I have seen in my readings on the Subaru forums. I have done a lot of reading on other boards and I will be running it on the NX. It has a walbro, so we will see what happens.

Yah, I guess I've seen numbers like that too. I should have said anywhere from 20-30% more fuel.

Dan and I are very familiar with that pump. His BMW runs it.

Do you want a dyno chart or video?

Edit: Because I can post up a chart. You'd have to give me some time to upload the video... =P
