Thread: Need some help!

when i did my swap the fuel rail from my lowport had the small black spacers, i then put a new high port fuel rail on my sr20det being that it was bent from tiger. when i put the fuel rail i use the spacer. i crank the car it had a leak. i removed the small spacer and the motor leak went away and idle perfect. Im not using the small black spacer and the fuel rail is seated good on the manifold.

the old 259cc injector small o rings fit the 370cc just incase.

My fuel rail wasn't bent so I didn't replace it. We'll see what happens when I get the new injector and o rings

Ok well, I got the injector and O-rings today, installed them and it started for like 5 seconds then died. Let the cylinders and plugs dry out and it then started and died once again.... And once again will not restart. I have no idea whats going on with it!?!?! So confused. Unless I got a bad injector, BUT I still don't see how the car would not start just because of 1 injector. I have one of those code readers and no codes are coming up.

Could this all be due to not having the right chip for my ecu? I have a 9:5 chip in it but the motor is 8:5, this is all I can think of that would be causing this now.

And I checked the rail today, I have all the spacers.

did you remove the rail and check to see if any injects leak when you prime it?

If it starts up for sec, does is it stay on if your giving it gas?

after installing new injector o rings, once the motor dies again on you, did you check to see which plug fouled after replacing the plugs?

try putting the rail back on with spacer.

I'm runing a stock b14 ecu on a sr20det. so 9:5 compression chipped ecu will work on a 8:5 just the fuel mapping is different. Aslong as your using all usdm sensors and the sensors that ecu is asking for you should be fine.

No it wouldn't run unless i had the gas down and it sounded terrable so I let off.
I'm gonna pull the rail tomorrow to see if any of the new injectors orings are leaking.
And how do I tell if the plug has fouled out?

the plug has a thick layer of black carbon on the insides and the tip. lol. also when you pull the plugs out, with a flash light look inside the cylinder and see if there is gas in it. If so with all plugs off and distributor disconnected crank the motor to clear the cylinder and let them dry out like you did.

You changed all the o rings and when you pull the rail off when you prime it and you see a leak it probably the injector is bad and stuck open. ive manage to get an inject unstuck but then i wouldnt trust it and replace it. lol thats just me though.

Did you put vasaline on the o-rings so that they would slide on easily?

Also, did you do a leak test before installing the rail back on?

I did the leak test today, none of the injectors are leaking and No I didn't use vasoline.

What is weird, is while I had the rail off I decided to crank it a little bit just to see if they all spray which they all do and a nice mist. But what is weird is that they all were firing at the same time.... Why on earth would they do that, we did it slow enough so that they shouldn't of.

I'm getting my new chip this week hopefully with the new program for the 8:5 compression so we'll see if this is the cure, I HOPE! I'm all outta ideas!
