going way off topic now...lol but its a good discussion i feel.
nobody really pushes the stock stuff over here andreas, there is no real sr scene tbh, the highest figure i've seen on a standard gtir was just about 400bhp atf, but like i say no-one really bothers. People are doing stuff that a few of us were doing 4 years ago and think its new, its retarded. I've always been impressed by what some of you guys have achieved, especially turbofreak with his old standard gtir motor and a set of cams
i'd say a lot of us guys in the uk have learned alot and got motivation from you guys on the sr forums as up until recently everything in the uk was 'tuner' lead. Its pushed alot of us to do things we probably wouldn't have. If you saw some of the specs for cars that make comparitively feck all power you'd p1ss your pants laughing at the amount of money some of these people have paid out.
I can understand the better 1/4 mile times in the states due to the tracks and slicks but between 'enthusiasts' in our 2 countries there will never be an agreement on power figures..lol..its the same on every forum i go on where theres both guys from the uk and the us on. Just weird how its so different
anyways,
Throwing a set of pistons in is considered a basic rebuild here, especially when you consider the exchange rate and how much we were getting stuff for up until recently. Shame thats gone down the pan now as theres a few bits i should've ordered months ago to finish my car
The first engine thats ready to go in mine will be on a 3582, i have a couple of sets of cams for it to mess about with, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.
