That is a great idea.

so all that work for a t2 manifold, at least if it was a t3/t4 manifold with external wastegate that you trying for them to create, a good t3 can be pruchase for the same price gtir t28 are selling for.

I will take a GT2871R or GT3071R for street use over any T3 based turbo.

A GT2871R at 20 PSi will run 11.5 at 125 MPH. On a SR20DET with S4 cams.

It will also have much better role on runs than a T3 style turbo.

I see you have yet to see what a well built T2871r car can do.

yeah as far as street car is concerned at gt2871 is the best turbo you can go with. People making 400whp @20psi of boost with s4's. Not too much heat running that much boost either. Any more you will start having heat problems. But 20psi will do a b13 plenty and will be good for possibly even a high 10 sec pass if you have enough weight reduction with a 1.6 60ft or so and hit all the shifts.

As far as drag racing only is concerned a bigger turbo will make more power where you need it most anyways. But that gt28 will make way more power and torque alot sooner than a t3 turbo ever could.

I agree cast manifolds work fine. But if this one will work it would be a decent alternative for people who are gonna stay t2 flanged, yet want a nicer looking manifold which for all we know could prove to add a few hp.

My friend built a ka24de for his brother and used a gt2871r, man that thing was a riot at 22psi, he has 11.75" rims on the back with michelin pilot tires and the thing would break the tires loose in 1st-3rd gear. I can vouch for the gt2871r turbo being awesome. Just ask thew guy around here who has an sti with alot of bolt ons and a gt35r on how hard i pulled on him with my little 2871r at 20-22psi in my nx.

Yeah I had this manifold, the first one was trashy. Holes didn't line up, ports are off. To off to bore out. Told them this and they sent me a new one, It fit well, flange was a little warped but should straighten out with some heat and re tightening. But I decided it wasn't worth the risk of running this and having it crack, so I just ran the stock gti-r manifold.

And as for SSAC, I've already asked them to make a setup so we could do a group buy, and I got emailed back asking about how many, told them probably about a 20 people start and I haven't heard anything back. This was like 3 months ago....
