Odd that Garrett lists them as two different part numbers.
Since you brought it up, I decided to see why.
I'll point out the differences I found.

GT2860R . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . GT2860RS
Dual ball bearing . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Single ball bearing
GT2560R compressor housing . . . . different compressor housing

Ok now answer the question he asked what is the boost level for it. Again it is the same damn turbo. They make the same power level and they repond the same.

You can stay their an nit pick at what the diffrence is but they are the same. When you start digging so deep into thing you will start to confuse yourself. Which you did already.

So now you are asking yourself which one is best to get. well now that you are confuesed, you can now confuse everyone else.

I just am getting ready for you tell me how one of the other turbos is going to respond so diffrently to the next and make more power.

it was answered 16-18 PSI

You're right again Dre. Same turbo, one's just designed as a Nissan bolt in, the other is more "universal". No reason to talk about them differently when performance is concerned.
You get all that LikeTheMovies?

I like when people sit there and argue over which turbo to get GT28RS or GT2871R. Then I love when someone comes in and says stay away from the GT2871R because it is so laggy compared to the GT28RS.

Start a hole crap load of confusuion over nothing.

GT28RS migh spool about 200 RPMs quicker than GT2871R, so now the 2871R is laggy. Oh my god dont get the 2871R because it is oh so laggy. The car will just be so slow spooling 200 RPMs slower. Somwhere along the lines they forget the 2871r makes about 40-50 more WHP and I know 200 RPMs later in the power band takes about 3 mins longer to get to.

I can see how .01 sec in spool time will kill someones roll on racing.

People just sit and over thinks things.

I'm glad to see jonwepa went with the GT2871R (with the .86 AR.) I thought it was the right decision for him too. And usually is the better choice between the two. I also usually prefer the larger AR ratios all else being equal.

have you not had creep issues with the internal gate on the 76 being much worse than those on the 3071 ? just something i have thought maybe a problem,

what about the 2876 ? any experience of that ? seems like a hideous mismatch
