Have you ever looked down the hole in the block for the oil drain with a light and made sure it was completely unblocked? You should be able to see the girdle unobstructed.

It really sounds like a drainage problem to me.

I had very little metal shavings in the oil from the first time I don't even now if it was even metal shavings. I flushed the oil as best I could and changed it and havn't seen shavings since. It's been on my mind cause the bearing damage in the turbo. I blew on the line but nothing but oil and air came out. Figured if I could blow through it it's not blocked. But alas I can see where that idea is flawed. But the third time (8" of banjo line and 6" of SS line) I double checked flow to the turbo and it seemed fine to me. I also wondered about if I had to much crank case pressure but when running the motor and checking oil drainage the drain tube off the block felt fine or at least not excessive.

the drain looked unblocked but I didn't need a light. I asked if it was a drain issue and he said it didn't look like it as being the center section seemd to "dry" for that. He thought it should be pouring out of the center section when he looks at it. even days after taking it off the engine. I just don't get it though being I checked to make sure oil was coming out of the oil supply line every time. It's not dry for real he just thinks it seem like there isn't enough oil

Its the bearing on the turbine side that seems to be the problem too. I was wondering if exhaust was getting through the seal. It's why I decided to post in this thread

If there wasn't enough oil pressure I could see the exhaust gasses getting through the seal. Low oil pressure would have to come first unless the turbo was improperly rebuilt somehow.

I would try getting some pipe cleaners and some starter fluid and spraying the lines to the turbo or just getting a new banjo and lines. And then try checking the drain with a flashlight, running it through with pipe cleaners or gun barrel cleaners. Then flushing the line with some cheap clean oil, pull the lower pan while you are doing this to see what comes out. Heavier weight might be something you would want to try too.

There really isn't too much too go wrong which makes this such a strange problem.

Thanks Jere I'm gona do all that. It wouldn't do anythin but help so I'll let you know. I was thinking the same thing about being rebuilt improper but the guy has years of expirience so I don't know. Like you said the turbo really is a simple machine.

I was thinking of running a full synthetic 15w50 or something heavy. I'll just have to make sure I let it warm up good before I take off in the morning.
