How much PSI would a TMIC can handle?
I have a T25 kit waiting to be installed in my B13 and I'll be using a TMIC, how much PSI would it handle?

I don't have plans of trimming the hood for a scoop

I'm not sure, but I have run 1bar on my oem gti-r top mount, and I've also run 1.1bar on my ARC gti-r top mount. The ARC was noticably better, stayed cooler, better flow, more hp up top. Still suffers from heatsoak in stop n go traffic, but if I stay moving it stays pretty cool.

I think the burst rating on those things is above 100 psi.

I forgot to mention, mine is an Avenir TMIC

My plan is to daily drive at 9psi and 12psi (at least) for the strip, obviously cooling down before passes

You mean 10psi right?

No I think he means 100psi considering metal is kind of strong and it would take alot of pressure for it to actually explode or come apart. Yes it should hold 100 psi without exploding if you were to close one side and pressurize it. Now the question of how old it is and if there will be boost leaks is a whole different story.
I think the question you are looking to answer is If I boost my t-25 higher and the air gets hotter will the stock top mount get heat soaked too quickly and become useless?

Sorry. I was being a jerk by answering the question you asked instead of answering the question you meant to ask. Sometimes I get sick of reading between the lines.

Top mount without a vented hood is worse than no intercooler at all.

It then is called an interheater

Two words:

HEAT SOAK.

to answer the question 6-7psi will be safe, but your IAT's will be high. Hell you can run 5-6psi with out a ic
