In Miami and FTL area the fastest S13-S14s were a few RB26DETT making some 800 WHP +

That being said the fastest S13-S14 4 bangers are KA24DETs. All built cheaper than SR20DETs and all having grass roots builds without the tech support of large companies.

There is no RB20DET out there that is going to out muscle a KA24DET with the same turbo at any given amount of boost being the same and you know this.

No one said a RB20DET was a crappy motor all I said as far as HP and torque goes it aint going to happen it will not beat a KA24DET in drag racing and road racing all things being equal.

There are a good few of these KA24DETs that run 9 and 10 sec time slips street driven. Some have been posted on youtube and like some running around have never made it to the internet.

I dont have to build a car to see whats going on. The facts are the facts.

Example a K20 is a better motor than a SR20VE. It is a fact, again proven just on street times alone and HP numbers I dont have to build one to make that comment just alone on observation.

The great thing is next year I will be building a KA24DET. A RWD platform is better for drag racing than a FWD platform. This is a fact, there is no need for bench racing as you so call it. Just pure observation and math can be applied, as the same math can be applied to the fact that a KA24DET will distroy a RB20DET at any boost level with the same turbo When it comes to HP and Torque.

As far as what motor that you pick for your car, that is your business as personal preference is what it is and it is great to see the diversity of motors in cars but it still does not change the fact.

As for me KA24DET, just need to find a clean body, so if any of you find a clean S13 trunk let me know I am looking for one in blue but beggers cant be choosers.

Stock sr20det,s in 240,s are slow you will not be happy all motors ve,s and b,s will kick up on you. Check out some of the KA forum,s you will see that alot of street KA,s are doing way better than SR,s and decide for yourself. KA24DET 240,s on SR20DET 240,s

Next year or 4 years from now it is still bench racing. Want me to bench race with you and stroke my "Rb20" to 2.4? Why bother talking about that. Drop in your KA add your parts and run 10's. I can surly say that I don't like the KA after owning more than one of them. Hell my daily drive right now is still on the stock KA motor. It reminds me of a truck when ever I drive it. I myself can't see the point of turbo charging it because that's just ME. I'm sure we can go look on paper and say why it should be, but I don't drive on papers. In the end this argument will never end because it's just personal opinion. I'm glad your going to step away from the fwd cars and stepping into the rwd cars. There more fun to drive and I'm sure you will enjoy your Ka build over and over again.

Exactly my thoughts. If I was going to get an S14 why would I spend $3000 or so to put in a stock SR20DET when I can take the KA24DE and use that same $3000 and build a monster.

People can say what they want Rob, SR20DET is a has been when compared to a KA24DET.

I am a SR20DE man and have been since the SR20 came out and I can admit the truth.

What alot of people dont understand is I supply alo of parts to people and I am good friends with some of these KA24DET guys. So I am alwasy in the loop with these things.

I will build a KA25DET starting next year. The only hold up is I want to find a clean trunk model 91-94 240sx hopefully in blue like my SER. I promise you it will make 750 WHP.

I like you have been in the game for a while now. I am as die hard of a SR20 fan as much as the next guy but, facts are facts. Many people on this forum(not all) have no clue what a fast car is. I have been around cars that will scare the **** out of the average guy.


Like you said facts are facts. Some things are just better than others.
