Its either the pistons or the rings or something that cant handle boost for a reliable ammount of time. Whatever it is they always fail on the KA-T guys cars around here and they wind up either building it or going with an SR.

CA18- what motor is smooth and revvy then? The CA18? Yeah its revvy. But it has to be lol. The RB20 is a waste of time imo cause your still sitting at 2L's and you couldve gotten an SR that has easier to get parts. CA18 is an old motor and shouldnt even be a consideration in the states even though Ive heard they are bullet proof just like teh rest of Nissans performance motors.

So if you understand how underrated the KA is why are you asking which engine to choose?

everytime I see a thread like this I just want to puke. KA vs SR20 vs RB20 vs EJ20. If u really have to ask which one you should swap maybe its time to buy another car. It all depends on what you like thats what it boils down too.

KA24DE all the way.

600 WHP and 600 Lb Ft Torque at 25 PSI is an easy build

KA24DE motor
Crower Rods
Forged J&E pistons
JWT cams
Turbo manifold
GT35R turboSARD 850cc injs
JWT 240mm Clutch and Aluminum flywheel setup

For a little extra fun
N1 TB
Make an nice intake manifold, keep the runners as long as posible while making a large plenum intake

Hey Miko, do you have a dyno graph of that ka?? Sounds like fun and I am mighty curious!! Also, didnt maxwork use a ka for thier s14/s15 drag chassis??

As for the video, it tells me nothing. What are the list of parts on each car??

I never understood why anyone would swap a Ka for an Sr, after all this is a rare wheel drive car where tq do play a big factor on how the car get up and go out the hole. Fact a 300hp Ka will walk I mean run away from a 300hp Sr rev happy cant make up for the tq. Build and boost the Ka you will be alot happier. If you notice even Miko agrees with this one.

No they run a SR in the S14 and a SR with the VE head in the S15. What do they know tho.

Unless of course you're not a complete novice and can plan a project correctly.
