Yeah, I believe a regular DE will dyno like 190-200 whp without anything else. So it's a good explanation why I hit 213

I wonder why they did that? Good stuff Vadim. Doing your thing as a forum supported as usual. Now we need to get the W10 and see what's up with that. WOW.

P.S. The 91-93 NX2000 and the 91-93 SE-R's have the same intake profile as we all know correct?

That shouldn't be too hard, we have plenty of W10 owners hehe.

Haha there is nothing to really do with cams specially more of the sizes. The bigger the better, you know?

When it comes down to cams, the bigger the lobe the more it pushes the rocker, the more it pushes the rocker, the further it pushes the valve, the further it pushes the valve, the more Gas and Air enters or leaves (exhaust cam). The more gas enters the more power you get hehe.

I would read up on this page, there is a lot of things that you can learn about how cams an everything else works

Cams are not just that. I am really surprised how many people run NA cams on boosted motors here, especially the ones designed for high NA gains.

NA cams and boosted cams are supposed to be different. High power NA cams are usually high lift with long duration and a decent amount of overlap. Boosted cams on the other hand normally are high lift and low to no overlap. In boosted engines, if the cams have high overlap, theres a good chance you're loosing fuel and air out of the exhaust during the intake stroke.

I've always wondered the kinds of gains people would get if they got custom ground cams for a turbo setup. I mean, to regrind cams it's only about $100 a cam, plus rocker resurface, and new lashpads, and I bet the gains will be more then simple bolting on cams made for NA performance.

The info on the cams is nothing new.

UK 10 to 1 lowport and highport intake cam is a little bigger than the 91-93 SER cam.

91-93 intake cams biggest
94 cam next
95-97 cam next
98-99 cam next

most of the DETs have the same intake and exhaust cams.

About a month ago I had Serban put a UK highport cam in his DET motor for more HP. This is something we started doing about 12 years or so. Stop messing around with this for about 6 years now. The problem is since there are great cams like S3s and S4s that work great with turbo we have moved on from this.

I guess the 91-93 intake cam is a great cam for guys on a budget but to me it is a waste of time. I dont even talk about this anymore for guys with 200sx SERs as again I feel it is a waste of time.

When you think about it for $250 you can get the small BC cams which should be the same size as JWT S4s.

^black bold - I heard somebody say this on the old forum.

^red bold - I have the BC2's in my daily right now and they do ok. I keep hearing people say they are like S4's, but some people say the S3's will out do them. Anyway I want to get some S3's and do a dyno comparison to see which set come out on top. Then I'll sale the set I don't keep. S4's are not daily driver friendly with the idle for my needs unless you have it around 900-1000?

I've heard of this too, S4 cams are the mainly NA only cams, they have huge lobes thus the choppy idle etc. Now S3's seem to be more boost friendly hehe.

You do bring a good point, the gains are probably too neglectable in the boost world, it's way cheaper and easier to just crank up the PSI and call it a day.
