Mr slappy, you are awesome. I figure the pistons and rods I am using should still be safe to high rpm and last on the street. I may just end up doing something like that. I have a msd digital 6 +, and it would be really really cool to rev to 9K even. Then maybe I could try some sr16ve cams for that really good top end pull.

Thanks

I finally got the Tubular TS manifold put on with the VET cams. IT is slower on 10psi than it was on 15psi with the log manifold. But I think the cams and tune are going to be the restriction now. So the next question is... What cams should I test? I have stock VE cams, but no springs/retainers to rev them out. I would like to just jump to the 16VE cams, just not sure if this turbo setup would like them (I bet it would).

Or I could just take the plunge and try out the 20V/N1 cams or a turbo grind. I would love to be able to rev out to 8000-8500rpm reliably and still make good power. I think the N1 cams would be the safest to do this, but they also may peak too late. Can someone get slappy back on here lol?

wow times have changed. Before you didn't want to rev past 7500 now you want to go to 8k-8500. Super tech springs are cheap, I got some shipped from mazworks for like 170.

ya I didn't want to have to push the powerband too far up, but unless I get more displacement there is no way for me to make the power I want and stay in the powerband. I want hp to level off and not drop 100hp on the shift. 400whp from 5500-8000 is faster than 500whp from 7000-7500. Mid range power makes you go fast.

Maybe I just need more boost lol.

or a shorter gear box....
test the 20ve intake and vet exhaust cam...

If I could be confident in the SR16 box that would be an option. But the gears are really short for drivin all the time.

I am very very anxious to try switching the exhaust VET cam. I don't know what the duration is and that is the only holdback. I don't want the cams to be too mixed up because this may be counterproductive for power...

Is the VE intake's extra 20* of duration with .3mm less lift really going to make that big of a difference? I can't wait to try it out, but I would love to hear more opinions on this! The VET combo had better bottom end power, and better response than the standard VE cams. But the VET cams just don't "pop" like the VE cams do.

Switching the VET exhaust does make a noticeable sound difference, but I just hope it doesn't cause a loss of power if it is too big. Is that possible?

sr16 box wouldnt last long with the torque of this setup, will strip 3rd gear no problems

Torks? What torks.

I am going to put the bleed boost controller in tomorrow and see what happens.
