Well that might be for a few reasons, you might have a leak in your waste gate line that bleeds some air. Your waste gate might be a 9 psi one.

Does it get up to 10 psi and stand there? Or does it creep or spike up?

Was the W11 Avenir OBD1 or OBD2?

Well Well...Now being a proud owner of an awesome W10 and a brand new autometer boost gauge, I can confirm that my W10 is boosting at 9psi. I thought they were supposed to boost stock @ 7psi? Can anyone else confirm/deny this? Seems I have my info wrong on this..

From all i have read in different forums, you are right. Its supposed to boost only 7psi stock.

Its all confusing to me.

I just bought a DET engine. It has the 001 t25 turbo number, the cold side outlet points downward. Its a high port, auto trans, highport oilfilter, 6 wire tps (but no conectors, just cables coming out of it) and it has a champagne valve cover... like a stock DE with the black painted center where the sparkplugs enter..

what could it be?? bb?

Champagne VC and black painted center?? Sounds like some sort of modified/painted business going on. 001 says it's a W10, that's what I'd go by.

Gomba, how big is your exhaust? What about your intercooler setup? All these factors can cause higher then stock boost levels.

Hey Vadim,

3" Turbo back exhaust. 2" intercooler piping w/2.5" pre-turbo pull-through.

Seems to be sticking right around 9psi.

Did a boost leak test and held steady over 22psi.

Also, I was never fully convinced that the stock boost on the W10 was 7psi. It was what I had read and such and what I thought differentiated the journal and ball bearing turbos on the HP numbers. But, I'm not even sure the hp is different and if it is, then that would mean the ball bearing makes more hp on the same boost. There could have been some other improvements to the W11 setup as well like exhaust/intercooler piping on the Avenirs that contributed to higher hp numbers as well. All kind of a mystery

A completely stock avenir motor, still in a completely stock avenir wagon, boosts 7psi.
As Vadim said, your exhaust & intercooler setup will be better than stock avenir stuff, causing the boost level to rise.

3" exhaust might be doing it, also are you sure a 9PSI wastegate wasn't installed by the previous owner?

The difference between journaled and ball bearing wont, or shouldn't make any peak HP differences. It will make a difference on how early you will receive that HP/Power or more correctly called Torque.

I have a 2.5" exhaust, with a stock STI muffler, so no creeps or spikes.
