jwt ecu question
Hom much different are the tunes between the 9.5:1 program and the 8.5:1 program? I will most likely be running 9:1 pistons with my new set up but have an ecu programmed for 9.5:1.

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems doing this, or if i would be better off running 8.5:1 pistons and the proper program.

Thanks,Jon

funny, i think i asked the same thing back 8 months ago.....its timing maps i believe. and seeing as your lowering your compression, it shouldnt hurt anything.

Yeah, as long as your actual compression is lower than the program's compression you'll be OK. The high(er) compression programs have more conservative timing maps.

You run into problems when you try to use a low compression program (aggressive timing) on a high(er) compression motor.

I didnt think it would matter too much. I was running a det ecu on one of my de's at one point.

That's the one you're not supposed to do, but hey, you lived to tell about it.
