Use the bigger nipple on the bov..For the wastegate run a seprate vaccum line from behind the throttle body.

I'd say you should do yourself a favor and get a vac manifold. It'll save you a ton of headache. First, I hate the idea of taking a tee off the FPR line. Second, it all just starts to get messy. I have a Golden Eagle one, but I know there are cheaper ones available out there. You make one tee off the brake booster, and since it draws so much volume, it'll run several things like your bov, your boost valve, and your wastegate or boost controller no problem.

But to answer your question, you can technically use that one, although there are others behind the TB, and like I said I don't like to use the FPR line for anything else.

note taken...thanks

now, i know the TB line to the fpr goes to the side of the TB. the only other lines i know of are one that comes off the bottom of the TB. its a det TB. i know the DE TB has 2 nipples under the TB. so if i take from the nipple under the TB, do i tee that or block the other end? the other end goes to a sensor of some sort.

thanx.

doc, got a pic of the golden eagle?

here's a pic of my TB: there's only one vac nipple on the bottom, and one for the FPR. I capped that because I'm running all my other vac off the vac manifold. You can use that one, and if you're gonna use T's, that's the one I'd use. If you have another vac nipple down there going to a sensor, that sounds like a DE TB with the EGR stuff still on there. If you have removed the EGR stuff, you can remove that sensor and use the port. Snap a pic of it if you can... The other two ports off the TB are coolant, I assume you knew that.

MY TB:

The Vac manifold:

The large hose obviously goes to the brake booster and the other ports are all blank 1/8npt wells, and you drill out however many you're going to use. I am only using 4, but there are 6 blanks. I have them for my boost gauge, zeitronix map sensor, bov, and boost controller. It cleaned up my engine bay and hoses a lot.

Edit: the small nipple on your bov is for a boost reference. It adds responsiveness to the bov or can simply be a vent for the air that the diaphragm moves. if you search around there are threads about using it as a boost reference, but I don't think it matters one way or the other.

very informative doc!!!

ok, so...that tb is the same one i have on my motor. the de tb has two nipples. i will get a pic tomorrow to show you. that nipple you have capped off is what goes to a sensor of some sort. the motor is det, so there are no emissions stuff. so your saying, i can tee off that nipple for BOV "and" wastegate?
i am aware the other lines are coolant. i built the dang thing from bearings up. i know that motor well.
when you say boost reference, what do you mean? can it be used for a boost gauge? i will search on that.
i can try to snap a picture, but i dont think it will come out well. i will have to wait till tomorrow for daylight. for a phone, the camera works well, but not excellent.
p.s. that golden eagle thing is dope!

oh, and where that nipple on the TB would normally go, do you have that end capped as well?

i had that for my wastegate on my de and when i put a boost controller on it, it spiked like hell for some reason. this was with a hallman also... i would do it on the intercooler piping or get the atp turbo outlet and use that, thats what im doing now.
