x3 or 4 on buying an extra pair of wheels and snow tires. Swap em in the parking lot/garage when you have to.

Just buy whatever you would buy normally on your daily... If you have a heavy foot and like to rip them up every once in a while, you will be wearing them out regardless.

What XxToKeSxX said is great advice. So is having winter wheels and tires.

I'm on my second set of Pirelli P7000 Supersports. They seem to do pretty good year round in a variety of conditions from rain and snow to track days and autocrosses. Unfortunately it appears that they are no longer available.

I also ran a set of Yokohama Parada 2's year round...once. Great tire May thru Nov. They sucked when it was cold and wet or slightly snowy. Wore them out quickly too.

The 912s are also good because they are not unidirectional afaik. Since Winter is coming get something that will be safe. I think you will be getting into enough trouble with the boost No need to get some exotic new tires to boot.

Yeah I always liked the Ziex tires. They certainly aren't slicks, but they have decent enough grip to have fun. They're all season and they're cheap enough to replace if you like to light them up.

Alright, next question then. Which place is best to get them :-D

Discount Tire Direct has them for $300 shipped, but then I would need to take them to a shop and get it all setup... so that will probably add up...

best bet there is to drive around and ask shops how much to mount/balance.

google/tire rack/dicount tires are your best bets (ebay as well)
