well the plus of going with the 55 is you get a bigger contact patch, and slightly longer gearing which will help traction. You can only go so wide with our cars, so if you can make up contact-patch area by making the tire diameter slightly bigger you can get better traction.

I have used my 205-55 tires with decent results until they got a lil low on tread. Then they started to slip a lot. I would like to get some 215-50 tires but I can't find them in that size. I would like to find a tire that would help me get traction. I don't hold in 1st or 2nd, and by that time 3rd doesn't feel fast enough. 500hp should fix that.

Coheed looking into 225/50/15's they cost as much as 205/50/15's. If found very few 215/50/15's and they cost $100+ each.

Actually Gomba confirmed that they worked just fine.

I just don't want them because of price and now that I actually have traction it doesn't seem like they are needed.

I'm running 225/50-15 drag radials and my **** won't hook until the top of 3rd if I stand on it....

To the OP,get the biggest freakin tires that you can squeeze into your wells and be done with it. Wish I could still drive on regular street tires...

How the hell are you getting your car to hook? I spin through 3rd and it will spin 4th if I shift with too much zeal and I'm only making around 370whp..

Are you running Prothane motor mounts? Or solid motor mount alternative? I never thought how big of a difference it would make until I installed mine.

Okay, so a 225x50x15 fits just fine.

I guess an alternate diameter for a 16" wheel would be a 225x45x16? Really would like to keep the meat of a 50 series, though

Solid mounts and a full coil over setup with custom heavier weight rear springs so that the car won't load onto the rear. Funny thing is that it gets a good 60ft then spins 2nd and 3rd if you don't baby it or granny shift. Use to hook fine until I did an external waste gate on the "potato" ..
