S14 Tomei Cams
I have the opportunity to get a set of Tomei S14 270deg 12.5mm cams really cheap but my main concern its that the lobe centerline of the intake cam is 120deg vs 110deg of the regular S13 cam I think I can skip one teeth advancing the intake sprocket and I will obtain the 110deg of the S13 specs... I want to hear you guys opinions....

generally tomei cams like +4 in and -2 ex, but each set up will respond differently, the best way to tune them is on the dyno. They will run crap with a tooth skipped, tomei choose that centerline for a reason

^^ agreed, going to have to spend time and money getting them adjusted on the dyno.

I tested them on +7.5,0 and I end up with a very good midrange but I lost 10 whp on the top end VS BC stage 3 at 0,0 I will test them at +4,-1 on the next dyno sesion

They have a lot of top end and they also like a lot of timing and they dont work on 0,0 my friend here have them on -2.5,+2.5 with great results on pump and race gas mixed I think it was 533whp @ 25 psi...

S14 cams will not work properly in a S13. Well the intake cam will not no matter what you do. If you keep messing with the cam you are going to add in one place which takes away from another but in large incraments.

As you know the S14 adjusts the timing where the S13 does not do so.

^^ crap i didnt realise it was s14's going into s13.

you can get them to work the same as s13 cams with gears. The s14's are 10deg retarded thats all

^^^^ Exactly I just have to play around with the intake cam timing until I get the results I want since the exhaust cam its the same I have it pretty much figured out but the Dyno will tell.... at the time the intake cam its 4 deg advanced an I think this way will give me the results I want.... I tested on +7.5 and it was a monster on the mid range but no top end at least thats what Dyno told me jejejeje....
