Breaking 400whp on a t28??
It is time again for me to start a new project. Blowing the head gasket twice on my old motor and low oil pressure has lead to the decision for a new motor. Just hear out my setup and see if it would be possible to break 400whp with a t28 on a somewhat low budget. (I want to try)
I'm going to start with a DET and put on a gtir t-28 running at 18psi. As for internals I was considering just getting pistons (I don't know which) but I'm not totally sure if they would be necessary. The head would be topped off with JWT S4 cams, springs, and retainers. The fuel system will be 50lb injectors, Aeromotive fpr, and a Walbro 255. The intake would have a z32 MAF and front mount of course and the exhaust would be a 3in downpipe to a cutout. What I think will break the barrier is that I plan to spray at least a wet 50 shot of nitrous maybe a 75 if I'm feeling lucky. All this will be on race gas probably 107 octane.
Alot of the power is in the tuning and timing (cam gears ect.) so it is going to be tuned by e-manage as it works well for me and my friend can write excellent fuel maps and what not for it. I'll use it as a window switch for the nitrous as well. Don't worry about the drive-train I will most likely be putting in a p11.
Thank you for any input and I will keep this thread updated with pictures and more when I rip everything apart when I get home from college for the winter.
